SEGi works with SKALI to boost IT workforce
A Memorandum of Understanding signed on 13 March, 2012 will see SKALI working hand-in-hand with SEGi University College to train SEGi students in one of its latest IT solutions modules. SKALI is known as one of Malaysia’s established e-solutions provider with many high profile clienteles.
This move is also in line with SEGi’s continuous effort in strengthening its industry linkages in order to ensure its students are equipped with current and industry relevant know-how. To boost its Information Technology graduates’ market value, SEGi engaged SKALI as its industry partners for training.
SKALI’s Group CEO & Co-Founder, YM Tengku Farith Rithauddeen says that SKALI realizes the importance of building a knowledge society. To support this cause, SKALI Group collaborates with SEGi University College with the primary aim of sharing our technical expertise and industry experience through Strategic Training Programmes.
“There is a fundamental need for higher education institutions to produce quality industry certified knowledge workers to the country’s need especially in ICT industry. We are very pleased to join forces with SEGi University College, who took bold step ahead of others, to collaborate with SKALI to improve competency level of future graduates.”
The MoU would be a value added benefit for students as they will also have the opportunity to gain various types of specalised certifications through SKALI. This development would, no doubt, contribute towards strengthening the Malaysian human resource in the IT industry.
Among the programmes which SEGi University College students will enjoy through SKALI at a discounted price are Liferay Developer (Elite) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
SKALI will send representatives among its EXCO members to conduct talks at the SEGi campus for IT and MBA students.
“It is our fervent wish that this collaboration will further assist Malaysia in its vision of achieving high-income status by 2020, as more skillful future workforce can be produced,” concluded YM Tengku Farith.
